Reflections from the Summit . . .
Elevated to the global forefront, Kenya spurred worldwide recognition after being selected to host the sixth annual Global Entrepreneurship Summit in July 2015. The internationally recognized forum brings together entrepreneurs at all stages of business development, business leaders, mentors, and high-level government officials. Further, the two day summit scheduled for 25th and 26th July 2015 was hosted by President Uhuru Kenyatta, with US President Barack Obama as a special guest. The US President was accompanied 20 members of the United States Congress and high-level government officials, as well as some established global entrepreneurs and business leaders.
The KENDAT CEO Dr. Pascal Kaumbutho was privileged to attend the two day summit and the Pre-GES Summit expo organized by the National Government in conjunction with the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA). The Pre-summit Expo provided an engagement platform for local innovators, entrepreneurs and other Private Sector organizations to showcase their products and innovations to investors. It offered a chance for those who did not get the opportunity to attend the main Global Entrepreneurship Summit to experience the vast investment opportunities presented by local entrepreneurs and companies. The Pre-GES summit Expo was held along with a Knowledge Sharing Seminar where both local and international investors shared their experiences on entrepreneurship.
Dr. Kaumbutho, is a seasoned innovation expert, an established entrepreneur and employer whose vast ventures and practices have brought about a revolution in the Kenyan Agribusiness sector and influenced over one million farmers and counting. His interaction at the summit with other innovators and entrepreneurs was mind challenging, he shares notes from this exposure.
